1:03 a.m. ~ 2003-08-25
3pm-midnight i have been two places in the last two days...work, bar, back to work. clocked less than 4 hours of sleep in between. drank more than i should have. (waking up saturday morning in my basement with a pot next to the couch is a sign that i should have been cut off hours before i was. i guess i wasnt feeling well when i got home. when did i leave the bar?) statistics have shown that women are at a higher risk of blacking out than men are. im a statistic. inventory was a beeeotch. by the third hour i couldnt even see straight anymore. i was cranky. my bum hurt from lifting and restocking and lifting again because i may or may not have missed that last row of paper cups. shit. at midnight i began hunting down friends one by one. definitely time to get the hell out. dennis and john were already in the parking lot with beers in brown paper bags. degenerates. the clubhouse is nothing special. but it is the closest bar to our place of employment. for years, it has been a gathering place for post-audit counters. every six months the quiet bar turns into a packed, sweaty, too small, too loud establishment. underage drinkers galore. people spilling out into the parking lot. last year the place had a blackout but no one left. we just went and stood outside. i was hurting by 230. i assume we left around that time. woke up to go back to work at 9...i cursed everyone who bought me a drink last night. some people looked downright skrrrry this morning. i dont think alot of people went home after the bar, just went right back to work in the morning. tonight ill sleep well. turning my phone off. leaving the computer on. i like seeing messages left overnight when i wake up in the morning.
